Do not forget to mow your lawn! But is a lawn really necessary? Some thoughts about grass and lawns: http://j.mp/asklNb
Lawns should be mown when necessary: add the grass clippings to the compost heap.
Did you sow a new lawn? Do not walk over or mow newly sown grass until it has reached a height of 5-7.5cm (2-3in).
Do not forget your lawn: mow the grass if the lawn shows signs of growth.
New lawns can be mown with the blades set to the highest setting, as soon as the grass reaches 5cm (2in) in height.
Your lawn may already need to be mowed: Set the cutting height at its maximum, and only mow when the grass is dry.
Walking on lawns should be avoided on frosty mornings: It can damage the grass and lead to brown footprint-shaped marks.
Do not forget your lawn: Continue to remove fallen leaves from it before they block out light and moisture to the grass.
This is the last chance to mow recently sown grass areas: Do not cut lower than 2.5cm (1in).
I rake all my dead leaves up and put them in my compost bin, making me some lovely compost later on.
