Houseplants should be rotated, otherwise the sides receive different levels of light and might not grow in a nice shape.
If your houseplants are not doing so well, maybe you should move them to a more sunny place.

During cold nights it is best to close the curtains between the window and your houseplants. Do not put them in between!
Houseplants with large smooth leaves, like rubbertrees, should be dusted using a soft damp cloth.
Winter heating dries out the air in your house, to keep your plants from dying they should be misted on a regular basis.
Do you grow tropical houseplants? Put them on trays of wet gravel and group them together to create a humid microclimate!
