Do you have a slug sroblem? If so, consider plants that slugs simply do not like such as: Begonia, Cosmos and Arabis.
Begonias can now be sown in a heated greenhouse or propagator! Some interesting varieties: http://j.mp/hQJnKI
Did you start off Begonia, Gloxinia and Achimenes plants earlier in the spring? They may now be large enough to re-pot.
Begonia and Gloxinia tubers can still be planted: they need to be planted hollow-side upwards.
Seeds of Begonia, Salvia and Pelargonium can now be sown in a heated greenhouse or propagator to provide early plants.
Care for overwintering plants: Inspect stored tubers of Dahlia, Begonia and Canna for rots or drying out.
